Improving the Clarity and Quality of a Complex 3D Service
HomeByMe is an advanced platform that allows users to plan spaces in 3D, used by discerning consumers and professionals. Over time, the user interface has become inconsistent and the source code has transformed into a true labyrinth, slowing down feature development and leading to a patchwork of templates.
Design Challenge
How to redesign a mature 3D platform to improve usability, speed, and sustainable quality? The mission: create a scalable design system, accelerate the speed of the user interface, and ensure an excellent user experience even as complexity increases.
My Approach
Complex UX Navigation: untangling key flows and clarifying primary paths.
Design and Execution Quality: setting high-fidelity standards and detailed guidelines for components.
Scalability: designing atomic and flexible user interface building blocks for rapid development.
User Testing Analysis: direct mapping of pain points to design hypotheses for quick validation.
Component Thinking: emphasis on maintainable and reusable interfaces.
Collaboration with Developers: ongoing joint sessions to resolve trade-offs between technology and design and increase implementation speed.
Results and Impact
The revamped HomeByMe service now rests on clear and solid user interface principles — it evolves much more quickly, is easier to maintain, and is preferred by both end users and the development team. This approach has laid the foundation for consistency and growth at the platform level.
Skills and Strengths: complex UX, design, scalability, user testing analysis, component thinking, collaboration with developers.
