Clément Ougier
Senior Product Designer Author & Creative
I design complex products with a systemic approach, prioritising clarity, stability, and long-term robustness.
I mainly operate in environments where growth, functional debt, or organisational constraints require more than just a simple interface improvement.

Designing beyond the interface
I view design as a lever for alignment rather than as an aesthetic layer. In the projects I work on, the challenge often goes beyond creating a feature. It involves clarifying responsibilities, making complex business rules understandable, reducing invisible frictions, or securing structuring decisions. I favour robust solutions over spectacular ones. Sustainable impact interests me more than immediate effect.
Observer
Before designing, I take the time to understand the existing system. Available data, actual usage, technical constraints, operational load: the design begins with analysis.
Structure
I formalise clear frameworks: explicit statutes, readable rules, defined responsibilities. Clarity reduces errors, facilitates decision-making, and secures the evolution of the product.
Stabiliser
In high-pressure environments, stability is a strategic advantage. I am working to enhance the reliability of the pathways and to align the product intent with the ground reality.
Transversality and contribution
I work in multidisciplinary teams where design constantly interacts with technology, product, and operations. I collaborate closely with developers to ensure coherence between intention and implementation. I work with Product Managers to translate business challenges into structured decisions.
I take into account the on-the-ground reality so that the proposed solutions are absorbable by the organisation. I defend my positions with well-constructed arguments while respecting collective decisions. Contributing to an informed decision matters more to me than imposing one.

Writing, creation & explorations
Beyond the product, I write and develop personal projects. My articles explore the themes of structuring, complexity and the tension between vision and operational reality. At the same time, I undertake creative projects blending illustration, motion, and visual storytelling. These practices nourish my approach to design: they enhance my ability to conceptualise, simplify, and narrate.
Curiosity occupies a central place in my practice. I am actively interested in the transformations related to artificial intelligence and new design tools. I experiment with automated workflows, develop personal agents, and build exploratory prototypes to understand the concrete implications of these technologies.
Outside of my assignments, I have notably developed Tiroir, a personal product designed and implemented from start to finish. This project allows me to explore the structuring of data, product architecture, and the ability to construct a complete vision, from concept to implementation.
I am self-taught, an avid reader, and attentive to the developments in the sector. This continuous exploration nourishes my professional practice and enhances my adaptability.

What I am looking for
I am interested in teams that wish to strengthen the robustness of their product and clarify their organisation. I am particularly comfortable in contexts where design must interact with strategy, technical and operational aspects, and where value is built over time. If this approach resonates with your challenges, I would be happy to discuss it.
